Mr. Salum Ramadhan Abdalla
Director, Department of Information, Maelezo Zanzibar
Serves as Director, Department of Information, Maelezo Zanzibar, overseeing Government communication, media coordination, and public information dissemination. Previously, he was Director of News and Current Affairs at Zanzibar Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) from 2019, also serving as Acting Director General for one year before resuming his former role in 2023.
His career includes leadership positions such as Director of Habari FM and Assistant Lecturer at Zanzibar Journalism and Mass Media College (ZJMMC), now School of Computing, Communication, and Media Studies (SCCM) under the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), where he taught for eight years. Beyond official responsibilities, he actively engages in journalism and media-related seminars, workshops, and professional activities both locally and internationally, contributing to the growth and development of Zanzibar’s media landscape.
